Motul 8100 X-Clean EFE 5w-30
Motul 8100 X-Clean EFE 5w-30 high-tech 100% synthetic engine oil with a combination of energy-saving and high protection properties. Due to its advanced energy-saving properties, this oil was approved by BMW Group, GM (General Motors) Opel, and Mercedes.
Motul 8100 X-Clean EFE 5w-30 Description
MOTUL 8100 X-clean EFE 5w-30 meets the requirements of vehicle manufacturers to ensure maximum performance and durability and is fully suitable when using up to 10 % biodiesel (Biodiesel B10) or unleaded petrol with 85 % ethanol (Bioethanol E85), dexos2® standard.
Euro IV, Euro V and Euro VI engines are equipped with sensitive exhaust gas after treatment system: sulphur and phosphorous in the exhaust reduce the efficiency of the catalytic converter. Sulphated ash is also deposited on the particulate filter elements, which in turn reduces its regeneration cycle and accelerates oil ageing, increasing fuel consumption and reducing engine output. ACEA C3 standard requires oils with high durability of oil film and low content of harmful substances in exhaust.
ACEA C2 requires a significant reduction in friction, thus saving energy and ultimately reducing fuel consumption. MOTUL 8100 X-clean EFE 5W-30 has a synthetic base oil base in combination with special friction modifiers and reduced sulphated ash, phosphorus and sulphur content (SAPS), which creates a very stable oil film in the engine, reduces friction and ensures compatibility with exhaust after treatment systems. MOTUL 8100 X-clean EFE 5W-30 has high lubrication, antiwear and high temperature resistance, which reduces oil burn. ACEA C2 and ACEA C3 oils allow extended oil drain intervals as specified by the on-board diagnosis system.
Motul 8100 X-Clean EFE 5w-30 Advantages
Motul is continuously working to improve the products in the 8100 range. EFE stands for Extra Fuel Economy and is ACEA C2 compliant. Motul 8100 X-clean EFE 5W30 offers the maximum wear protection available in the 5W30 viscosity grade and meets the ACEA C3 standard. These requirements are necessary for modern engines in the Euro-4, Euro-5 and Euro-6 environmental classes.
Compatible with catalytic converters and particulate filters (DPF), 8100 X-clean EFE 5W30 engine oil provides excellent low-temperature properties: during frequent cold starts, 8100 X-clean EFE 5W30 engine oil is pumped through the oil circuit even faster. The medium ash formulation ensures a long service life and high efficiency of the after treatment system. The high performance of the engine oil is guaranteed even under extreme thermal and mechanical loads. The low volatility loss results in low oil consumption.
The new product 8100 X-clean EFE 5W30 has the latest homologations by European producers. Benefits of this product include MB-Approval 229.52, developed as part of the BlueTEC concept. This standard is more demanding on fuel economy and resistance to oxidative thickening than its predecessor MB-Approval 229.51. Conformity with the homologation 229.52 allows the use of this oil in vehicles equipped with a selective regeneration system (SCR). The product 8100 X-clean EFE 5W30 also features the BMW medium ash homologation LL-04 which requires additional oil burn protection.
The 8100 X-clean EFE 5W30 product has a high oil film stability throughout the shift interval. These changes have made the product more versatile. The product is also compatible with biodiesel (B7).
Motul 8100 X-Clean EFE 5w-30 Application
Specially developed for latest generation petrol and diesel engines including turbocharged and direct injection engines. It is used in engines that comply with Euro IV, Euro V, and Euro VI environmental standards, for which the use of ACEA C3 engine oils is prescribed: oil with high HTHS (> 3.5 MPa. Sulphated ash (≤0.8%), phosphorus (0.07% – 0.09%), sulphur (0.3%) “Mid SAPS” or energy-saving ACEA C2 oils: oils with low HTHS (> 2.9 MPa.s), reduced content of sulphated ash (≤0.8%), phosphorus (≤0.09%), sulphur (≤0.3%) “Mid SAPS”.
Compatible with catalytic converters, particulate filters (DPF), and selective catalytic reduction systems (SCR). This type of engine oil may not be compatible with some engines. Please check your vehicle owner’s manual before use.
